Rise Up Funding Opportunities
We invite applications for funding projects that align with the objectives of Rise Up. The project must result in income generation activity for the Beneficiary and related individuals or entities. The potential Beneficiaries should be closely associated with a Sponsor, who must be a Rise Up member. We offer up to Rs 50,000 to carefully selected applicants. Sponsors and Beneficiaries are encouraged to raise additional resources from elsewhere. Documentation of such commitments, in cash or kind will count in favor of the application.
To apply the Beneficiary must submit a 2-page Concept Note for the proposed project.
This unique model for “Social microSeed” funding for livelihood improvement has been piloted by Chairman Surender Mohan, Prof. Tara Sen Thakur and Operations Manager Aakash Sharma.
At present we are considering Beneficiaries in Mandi district.
Sponsor Requirements
1. Rise Up member
2. Knows the Beneficiary, and has worked with them
3. Commits to mentoring and monitoring the Beneficiary before, during and after the project execution
4. Will contribute Rs. 5,000 towards the project
Beneficiary
1. Individual or entity such as a small business, SHG etc. in Mandi district
2. Known to Sponsor to be capable in the topic, honest and hard working
3. Work with Sponsor to develop a Concept Note
Concept Note: Two-page application should include the following sections:
1. Name of individual or entity, including designation, government IDs, and contact details
2. Project site address
3. List Objective numbers of Rise Up that best align with the objectives of the application (see next page)
4. 1-page summary of the project and its goals
5. List partners names (if any) and their roles
6. Budget, i.e. What will the funds be used for?
7. Tasks and Timeline
8. Whose lives will this improve and how many will be affected?
9. How will you measure success?
10. What are your future objectives?
Objectives of Rise Up Mandi Foundation:
The objects for which the society is formed are as follows
i) To facilitate and support humanitarian activity pertaining to economic upliftment, environmental stewardship, and sustainable development in hilly regions.
ii) To facilitate, support and promote humanitarian activity pertaining to Disease prevention and treatment, Water and sanitation, Basic education and literacy, Vocational Training
iii) To promote and organize initiatives related to sustainable transportation and urban planning that provides economic upliftment and environmental stewardship in hilly regions.
iv) To promote and organize initiatives related to eco-tourism that provides economic upliftment, environmental stewardship and sustainable development in hilly regions.
v) To promote and organize initiatives related to educators and education to provide economic upliftment, environmental stewardship and sustainable development
vi) To promote and organize initiatives related to horticulture, forestry, agriculture and aquaculture to provide economic upliftment, environmental stewardship and sustainable development in hilly regions.
vii) To purchase or otherwise acquire or obtain or take on lease or hire in the town of Mandi or outside, temporarily or permanently any movable or immoveable property necessary for the furtherance of thee foundation.
viii) To issue appeals and applications for money and funds equipment and materials in the furtherance of said objects and to accept gifts, donations and subscriptions of cash and securities, loans, deposits and any other property either moveable or immoveable.
ix) To co-operate with societies, institutions and bodies with similar aims and objects.
x) To invest and deal with the funds and money of the foundation and to vary, alter or to transpose such investments from time to time.
xi) To sell, mortgagee, lease, exchange or otherwise transfer or dispose-off or deal with all or any property, moveable or immoveable of the foundation for the furtherance of the objects of thee foundation.
xii) To undertake and accept the endowment of trust funds or donation with the objects similar to the objects similar to the objects of the foundation.
xiii) To offer prizes and incentives and to grant scholarships and stipends for the furtherance of the objects of the foundation.
xiv) And to do or get done all such other lawful things as are conducive or incidental or ancillary to the attainment of above objects.
